How WET2400 helps:
Tangible Savings/Benefits from using WET2400 in Agriculture:
Explanations of savings/benefits above:
The WET2400 mineral binding system can be applied to an existing or new irrigation system just after the pump; thus, reducing and/or eliminating mineral fouling on the interior walls of the complete system. Benefits will be seen in the performance of the nozzles/orifices that break the droplet into spray.
The mineral binding system reduces the surface tension of the water post-treatment. The plant leaves can more readily absorb the treated water with reduced surface tension {bead/drop forming effect}; thus, the water is used more efficiently via foliar feeding. Benefits will also be noticed in crop yield and uniform growth as the crops mature using the irrigation system.
Some leaf damage occurs from the sun and the beading effect of non-treated water. Water beads that linger on the leaves can magnify and/or intensify the sun's harmful UV rays. The WET2400 mineral binding system will lower the surface tension of the treated water; yielding less beading for better absorption and/or runoff – which then gets absorbed into the ground.
Reduced surface tension of the water aids in making more efficient use of irrigation water. When the treated water impacts the soil, the reduced surface tension allows the soil to absorb the water better without the use of costly surfactants. This is especially beneficial where hardpan soil and/or clay soil exists where water normally puddles on the surface and evaporation and/or runoff occurs.
The treated water with reduced surface tension will soak deeper into the soil to aid in leaching out salts in the plant root zone. Soil salinity in the root zone makes it more difficult for plants to absorb soil moisture, which can impede the crops full potential. Moisture content can be measured deeper in the soil with treated water versus untreated water. During the growth of a young plant, the roots will only grow to a depth where nutrients and moisture can be obtained. If the moisture is shallow, the roots will be shallow (close to the surface). Deeper root structures will also allow plants/crops to better withstand heat/hot climates.
Automated climate control mist systems or fog systems in greenhouse operations can also benefit from WET2400 installations. The reduction of mineral fouling {scale} at the spray orifice will stop drips caused by partially plugged nozzles. Benefits will also be seen from better atomization of the droplet for better evaporative cooling; no hot spots and better uniform growth/yield. Most greenhouse operations apply nutrients through root zone “feed drip” or drip irrigation type systems. The WET2400 is great for these types of fertigation systems. Fertigation systems can be problematic with many fertilizer blends due to the mineral makeup that will naturally bind and plug or restrict from scale deposits.
